”Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” este scris de compozitorul american Johnny Marks și spune povestea renului cu nasul luminos care ajunge să conducă sania lui Moș Crăciun.

Melodia este una dintre cele mai îndrăgite din perioada sărbătorilor de iarnă și îndeamnă oamenii să dea dovadă de înţelegere și acceptare a celor din jur.

A fost pentru prima dată interpretat în noiembrie 1949, de către cântăreţul american Harry Brannon, la New York City radio.

O lună mai târziu, în decembrie 1949, artistul Gene Autry înregistrează o versiune proprie a cântecului care ajunge pe locul 1 în topurile din SUA şi se vinde în aproape 2 milioane de unităţi, doar în primul sezon de iarnă de după lansare.
