Single-ul a urcat pe primul loc în Statele Unite, Marea Britnaie, Canada, Irlanda, Noua Zeelandă şi alte 19 ţări. Este cel mai bine vândut cântec al anului 2014 în Statele Unite, precum şi în Marea Britanie.
Din iulie 2014, a devenit una dintre cele mai bine vândute melodii din toate timpurile, fiind vândut în 12 milioane de exemplare în toată lumea.
Hitul fost nominalizat la Oscar pentru cel mai bun cântec original, iar o versiune live a câştigat un premiu Grammy pentru cea mai bună interpretare pop solo.
