Lansată original de grupul disco american Village People, “Go west” s-a bucurat de un mai mare succes prin versiunea din 1993 a duetului synthpop britanic Pet Shop Boys. Titlul cântecului este atribuit expresiei din secolul 19 “Go west, young man” (Mergi spre vest, tinere), care se presupune că a fost spusă de Horace Greeley, un îndemn pentru colonizarea vestului american.
